The highest setting can be used until baby is able to sit up unaided. From this point you will want to start lowering the mattress. The next setting down can be used until baby is starting to kneel and pull themselves up. This is when the lowest cot setting needs to be used. This is used until baby is starting to outgrow the cot and needs to be converted into the toddler bed.
